According to the
Dallas Star-Telegram, the Dallas Cowboys
have circled
four prospects for the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft, of which
two (maybe even three) could be of significant interest for Cincinnati.
Clarence E. Hill Jr. writes that Stanford guard David DeCastro and LSU
defensive lineman Michael Brockers are two players that the Dallas
Cowboys are interested with. Other players include Mississippi State
defensive tackle Fletcher Cox and Alabama safety Mark Barron.
Jones is open to moving up if two or three players fall within range,
namely Cox or LSU cornerback Morris Claiborne, according to a source.
Claiborne is expected to go in the top five.
"Yes, that is a possibility," Jones said. "I don't want to say one
player. But there are players we would go for."
He is definitely open to moving down in the draft if he got the right
offer to add value. Jones said he's already received calls and made
calls about potential trade scenarios.
Theoretically the Bengals could also be interested with Alabama
safety Mark Barron, but no soul in this great country believes he'll
fall to Cincinnati's No. 17 slot. DeCastro is an interesting selection.
Though he does address a need, there's a growing belief that the Bengals
won't address offensive guard in the first round -- hopefully that
belief is dead-wrong.
